Install Showvee on Fire TV
For Fire TV Stick, Stick 4K, 4K Max and Lite, Fire TV Cube and Fire TV smart TVs. You only need your remote.
- About 5 minutes
- 1-minute video
- Just your remote
Showvee is also on the Amazon Appstore. On a Fire TV with Fire OS, get it from Amazon or search for Showvee on your Fire TV. This guide installs the copy from showvee.com.
Newest Fire TV Sticks can’t install apps from outside Amazon’s store. The Fire TV Stick 4K Select, the 2026 Fire TV Stick HD and the Fire TV Stick 4K (3rd gen) run Vega OS, so this guide won’t work on them.
Not sure? Look at Settings › My Fire TV › About › Software Version: “Fire OS 6”, “7” or “8” is fine. More about this
Step by step
-
Install the Downloader app
On the home screen, go to Find › Search and type Downloader. Choose the orange Downloader app, then Get or Download. It’s free.
-
Open Settings › My Fire TV › About
Settings is the gear ⚙ at the right end of the home screen.
Fire TV smart TV: Settings › Device & Software › About.
-
Press Select 7 times on your Fire TV’s name
Highlight the first line, for example Fire TV Stick 4K Max, and press the round middle button 7 times until you see “You are now a developer”.
Why? Fire TV keeps the switch that lets Downloader install apps in a hidden menu; this shows it. It says “No need, you are already a developer”? That’s fine too.
-
Allow Downloader to install apps
Press Back, then open Developer Options › Install unknown apps and switch Downloader to ON.
Older Fire TV (Fire OS 6): turn on Apps from Unknown Sources instead.
-
Type showvee.com/get in Downloader
Open Downloader (choose Allow if it asks about files). Select the address bar at the top, type showvee.com/get and choose Go.
-
Choose Install
The download takes a few seconds. When the installer opens, choose Install.
-
Choose Open
Showvee starts and asks for your playlist. Later you’ll find it in Your Apps — the apps button ⊞ on the home screen.
-
Optional: delete the download
To free up space, open Downloader, choose ☰ › Files, then Delete All Files. Showvee stays installed.
Showvee is a player only. It contains no channels or other content. Use it only with content you have the right to watch.
That’s it — Showvee is installed
Next, add your playlist: Showvee asks for it the first time it opens. Getting started
Tip: to keep Showvee at the front, highlight it in Your Apps, press the ☰ menu button and choose Move to front.
If something goes wrong
Downloader isn’t in the “Install unknown apps” list
A Fire TV bug in 2026 hid it on some devices; Amazon’s fix arrives as an update. Go to Settings › My Fire TV › About › Check for Updates, install any update, restart (Settings › My Fire TV › Restart) and look again. Make sure Downloader is installed first — the list only shows apps that are already there.
I don’t see Developer Options
Go to Settings › My Fire TV › About, highlight the first line (your Fire TV’s name) and press Select 7 times, quickly. Then press Back: Developer Options appears under My Fire TV.
The address or code doesn’t work
Check the spelling: showvee.com/get, no spaces. Update Downloader from the Appstore — older versions don’t understand short codes. If it still fails, see showvee.com won’t open.
“App not installed”
A copy of Showvee from somewhere else is already on the Fire TV. Uninstall it in Settings › Applications › Manage Installed Applications › Showvee › Uninstall, then install again. Uninstalling removes your playlists, so note your playlist details first.
Not enough space
Delete the download in Downloader (☰ › Files › Delete All Files), and uninstall apps you don’t use in Settings › Applications › Manage Installed Applications.
Will Showvee update itself?
Yes. The first time it offers an update, the Fire TV asks whether Showvee may install apps — switch it on (Settings › My Fire TV › Developer Options › Install unknown apps › Showvee) and updates install with one press after that.
The Showvee tile is blank after an update
A Fire TV quirk: after an update, some Fire TVs lose the picture on Showvee’s tile. Showvee still works — open it from the blank tile, or from Your Apps (the apps button ⊞ on the home screen). A restart usually brings the icon back: Settings › My Fire TV › Restart. Uninstalling and installing again also fixes it, but removes your playlists and settings.
Other devices
iPhone, iPad and Apple TV aren’t supported, and neither are Roku, Samsung and LG TVs: Showvee is an Android app. Reading this on an iPhone? That’s fine — just follow the steps on your TV. Which devices work?
