Install Showvee on an Android phone or tablet
Any brand with Android 7 or newer. You download the app in Chrome and install it — no app store needed.
- About 2 minutes
- 30-second video
- Android 7 or newer
This software uses code of FFmpeg licensed under the LGPLv2.1 and its source can be downloaded here.
Step by step
-
Tap Download Showvee
Use the button at the top of this page, on your phone. Or type showvee.com/get in Chrome’s address bar.
If Chrome asks whether to keep the file, tap Download anyway. On a computer? Scan the QR code on the download page with your phone.
-
Tap Open
A “File downloaded” message appears at the top of Chrome. Tap Open.
Missed it? In Chrome, tap ⋮ › Downloads and tap the Showvee file.
-
Allow Chrome to install apps
The phone says it isn’t allowed to install unknown apps from this source. Tap Settings, then turn on Allow from this source.
If the install question doesn’t pop up by itself, tap ← Back.
-
Tap Install
The phone asks: “Do you want to install this app?” Tap Install.
If Google Play Protect warns about the app, tap More details, then Install anyway. Showvee is new, so Play Protect doesn’t know it yet.
-
Tap Open
Showvee starts and asks for your playlist. You’ll also find it with your other apps.
Showvee is a player only. It contains no channels or other content. Use it only with content you have the right to watch.
That’s it — Showvee is installed
Next, add your playlist: Showvee asks for it the first time it opens. Getting started
You can delete the downloaded file in Files › Downloads; Showvee stays installed.
Samsung and some other phones use their own browser and My Files app: the steps are the same, only the names differ. Google is also adding developer checks for apps installed from outside the Play Store, country by country from late 2026. If your phone shows extra steps, follow them; we’ll update this guide as things change.
If something goes wrong
“App not installed”
A copy signed differently — for example from Google Play — is already installed. Uninstall it first, then install again.
“There was a problem parsing the package”
The download was interrupted, or the phone runs an Android older than 7. Delete the file and download it again.
I can’t find the downloaded file
Open the Files app (or My Files on Samsung) and look in Downloads. In Chrome you can also tap ⋮ › Downloads.
Will Showvee update itself?
Yes. The first time it offers an update, Android asks whether Showvee may install apps. Allow it once and later updates install with one tap.
Other devices
iPhone, iPad and Apple TV aren’t supported, and neither are Roku, Samsung and LG TVs: Showvee is an Android app. Reading this on an iPhone? That’s fine — just follow the steps on your TV. Which devices work?
