Showvee 1.9.20 Latest

Changing channel no longer blinks black: the picture stays until the next channel starts.
Live TV keeps your TV’s refresh rate, so channels start without a dark flash. Films and series still match it. New setting: Match frame rate on live TV (Settings › Player), for smoother 25 and 50 fps channels.
M3U and Xtream channels no longer stay black after you press Home or wake the TV.
Pause live TV with any remote: hold OK, or use the options menu. Pause / play can also go on any key (Settings › Remote control).
WMV and WMA files now play, on films and series.
Dolby channels no longer crash the video on some TV boxes.
More channels work: 4:2:2 video starts in about a second, streams with heavy packet loss show a picture, and sound that changes inside a stream stays right.
Channels come back by themselves when a provider restarts a stream, when the picture size changes during a programme, or after a media crash.
Live TV keeps trying through unusual provider errors, and Multi-view tiles reconnect on their own.
Sound-only channels and files show a card instead of the last picture.
The focus ring on posters and previews follows your colour theme.

The channel list no longer covers the picture.
Clear messages when a provider refuses a login: a MAC locked to another device, a blocked or expired account, or a login the server turns away.
An edited playlist gets its new list straight away.
The guide now fills in on every playlist that shares it, and tries again if an update was cut off.
Fixes for M3U films and episodes, Continue watching, and captions.

Series: every episode now plays its own file. On some portals, all episodes played Episode 1.
Movies and Series stay smooth when you hold a key, and posters are ready when you scroll back.
Lists and menus run smoother on TV boxes.
Films and series are grouped by language, with full group names, and English comes first in search.
New setting: Group by language (Settings › Appearance). On by default; off shows your provider’s own list.
New setting: Tidy channel logos (Settings › Appearance).
A clear message when your network blocks a stream.
An empty or broken answer from a provider no longer wipes your lists or guide.
If a channel leaves your provider’s list, Live TV moves to another channel instead of reconnecting.

Showvee 1.9.15

Home in the glass look glows in your colour theme, instead of taking its colour from the newest poster.
Holding Right or Left on a home screen row stays in that row, right to its end, instead of jumping to another row or the top of the screen.
Up and Down on the home screen move one row at a time, TV style: the row you are on settles in the same place and the page slides under it.

New glass look: see-through panels over the pictures and the live picture, with rounded previews and posters. Settings › Appearance › Glass look turns it off.
Search filters: show only films, series, channels or the TV guide, and narrow films and series by rating (from IMDb and TVmaze), year and category, or sort them. With nothing typed, a filter lists the films and series of an M3U or Xtream playlist.
Browsing the channel list no longer blinks black: the picture stays until the next channel’s preview starts, and the TV’s frame rate is matched once you choose.
Fire TV: the keyboard stays on screen while you type, instead of opening on its own page.

Search results stay in place while more are found, best matches first, so rows no longer jump on slower TV sticks.
Showvee opens on the portal you used last, with its last channel playing on the home screen. The “Choose a portal” question is now off by default; Settings › Playlists turns it back on.
Fire TV: playback pauses when the TV is switched off or unplugged.
New “Try the demo” on the first screen plays the demo playlist from showvee.com.
The privacy policy and terms open inside the app.

Radio shows up by itself after this update when your playlist has stations: each playlist updates once in the background.
The loading and reconnecting messages no longer cover a station’s name.

Search finds films and series by their names across everything your provider has, the best matches first, each with its category.
Your recent searches are one press away, and suggestions appear from the third letter.
Radio: when your playlist has radio stations, Radio shows up beside Live TV, with the song playing where the station sends it.

Back on full-screen live TV opens the channel list on the channel you’re watching.
Series details also come from Wikidata and Wikipedia when TVmaze doesn’t know the show.

Film and series pages fill in missing plots, ratings, cast, trailers and episode names from Wikipedia, Wikidata and TVmaze (Settings › Playlists turns it off).
Search covers all your playlists, and works by voice and from Google Assistant.

Back on full-screen live TV opens the channel groups.
If Showvee switched to backup video decoding, a reminder every 30 minutes of watching says that restarting the device brings back the best picture.
New option in Settings › Playlists: warn when another device on the same MAC address keeps cutting your stream (for providers that allow one stream at a time).

Categories your provider marks as restricted stay locked until you enter the provider’s parental password (your provider can tell you what it is). Each shows a lock symbol, and the lock comes back when you leave the app. Showvee’s own PIN is separate.
My groups: “Add channels” on a group’s menu lets you pick channels category by category.

Paused live TV says what the remote does: Play continues from where you paused, OK jumps to live.
On Android TV and Google TV, a new app icon (Settings › Appearance › App icon) shows after the TV restarts, and the setting now says so. On phones it changes at once.

A new look: a full-width TV banner and a new app icon, a clapper over a TV.
Choose from ten app icons in Settings › Appearance › App icon on Android TV, Google TV and phones. Fire TV always shows the standard icon on its home screen, so it doesn’t offer the choice.

Search shows Live TV, Movies and Series in separate rows.
Pause live TV and jump back to live; after you resume, a chip shows how far behind live you are.
Back steps down to Home: from the channel list to the main menu, then Home.
Find subtitles online for movies and episodes, from OpenSubtitles.com (free version: 1 film a day). Your provider’s own subtitles stay the default.
Captions now work on providers whose playlists said a channel had none.
Channel logos show when the provider sends them as file names.
Showvee can open when the device starts: Settings › Live TV.

Showvee in Hindi and 22 more languages: choose one in Settings › Appearance › Language.
Premium: your favourites, watch history and resume points sync between your TVs and phones, encrypted with your playlist’s login.
Remove one title from your watch history, or clear it all.

A newer video engine, with a software fallback that plays more formats. The app is bigger (about 22 MB) because it brings these decoders along.

Rewind and fast-forward speed up the longer you press (from 10 seconds up to 10 minutes a step), and the hint shows the step.
The Home tile row stops at its last tile.
Live TV keeps playing when the TV set wakes up; before, it paused when the TV’s sound link reconnected.
The parental PIN now also locks restricted movies and series, is stored securely, and makes you wait after wrong tries.
Menus and dialogs fit narrow phone screens.
Faster guide updates and channel lists on slower boxes, steadier multi-view, and many smaller fixes.

Favourites is now always the first category in Live TV, Movies and Series. Mark a channel, movie or series and it shows there; when it’s empty, it tells you how to add one.
The TV guide is now optional and off by default. If you use it, turn it on in Settings › TV guide: after updating, the guide stays hidden until you do.
A remote button can add or remove the playing channel from favourites (set it in Settings › Remote control).

Fixes live channels whose picture froze every half minute while the sound kept playing (for example some 4K live streams on Google TV).

Start over: watch the programme that’s on now from its beginning, on channels where your provider offers catch-up. It’s in the options menu, the channel list and the TV guide, or press Rewind on the remote; Watch live brings you back.
Phones: drag up or down on the left for brightness and on the right for volume, pinch to fill the screen, and lock the screen against stray touches. Movies play in landscape.

Steadier lip-sync on live channels: sound follows the stream’s own timing and re-syncs after the TV changes its refresh rate.
Movies and episodes start much faster: a link the provider refuses is renewed at once instead of after several seconds of retries.
A next-episode card near the end of an episode (press OK to play it now), and an “Are you still watching?” check after 90 minutes without a button press.
Long seasons of daily shows load in full, and Play works before the episode list has loaded.
Clearer catch-up messages when a provider has no recording, and focus returns to where you were after closing the player or a menu.

Smoother picture on TVs: the screen’s refresh rate follows each channel (50 Hz for 25 and 50 fps channels), now on by default.
Exact lip-sync: Dolby sound is decoded on the device by default, and you can set an audio delay for one channel or for everything.
Favourites and History for movies and series, and categories in the TV guide (press Up from the first row).
On TVs only the item under the cursor is highlighted, and the series page keeps its place and gives the episode list more room.
Many fixes: the guide on portals, seasons, the player buttons, reconnecting, syncing large playlists and multi-view.
Your provider account details moved from the home screen to Settings › Playlists.

Channels that a provider lists several times (HD, FHD, 4K, backup) show as one channel. Pick the version in Options › Quality; Showvee remembers it and moves to the next version if one keeps dropping.
Choose which live groups and movie or series categories to show, for each playlist.
The channel list and Movies / Series reopen on the category you used last.
Captions on or off for a whole live group or category (Premium).
