Help and questions
Answers to common questions, and fixes for the usual problems: buffering, channels that won’t play, playlists that won’t connect, the TV guide and sound.
Showvee is a player only. It contains no channels or other content. Use it only with content you have the right to watch.
Getting started
- Install Showvee on your device — see the install guides.
- Add your playlist. The first time Showvee opens it asks for one; later you can add more in Settings › Playlists. Choose the type your provider gave you:
- MAG portal — a portal URL and a MAC address (registered with your provider).
- Xtream Codes — a server address, username and password.
- M3U — a playlist link, plus a guide (XMLTV) link if you have one.
- Watch. Press OK for the channel list, ◀ for groups, ▲ ▼ to change channel, and hold OK (or press Menu) for options such as captions and audio. Back opens the channel list on the channel you’re watching; press it again for the main menu, then Home.
Frequently asked questions
Does Showvee come with channels?
No. Showvee is a player only — it provides no channels, playlists or subscriptions. It plays what you connect to it from a service you already have.
Where do I get a playlist?
From the TV service you subscribe to. Showvee doesn’t sell, recommend or support any particular provider. Use only content you have the right to watch.
Which playlists and logins work?
Three kinds: an M3U or M3U8 playlist link, with an XMLTV guide link if you have one; an Xtream Codes login (server address, username and password); and a MAG portal, also called a Stalker portal (portal URL and the MAC address registered with your provider). You can add several and switch between them.
Which devices does Showvee run on?
Fire TV (Fire OS 6 or newer), Google TV, Android TV boxes and sets, and Android phones and tablets with Android 7 or newer. It doesn’t run on Apple devices, Roku, or Samsung and LG TVs — see unsupported devices.
Is Showvee free?
Yes. Live TV, the guide, catch-up and search are free without limits. The free version starts 3 new films or series a day (carrying on with one you started always works; a series counts once) and includes the basic caption styles and two themes. Premium removes the limit and adds extras.
Can I find films by rating or year?
Yes. On the search screen, the filters under the box narrow films and series by minimum rating, year or decade, and your provider’s categories, and sort them by newest, highest rated or A to Z. Ratings come from IMDb (films) and TVmaze (series) when they know the title, otherwise from your provider. With an M3U or Xtream playlist, choosing a filter without typing lists every matching title; with a portal, type a title and the filters narrow what it finds.
Does Showvee have a TV guide (EPG) and catch-up?
Yes. The guide comes from your provider or any XMLTV link; switch it on in Settings. Catch-up works wherever your provider offers it.
How do I get Premium on my TV?
In Showvee open Settings › Premium › Activate with your phone, scan the code with your phone and sign in to your Showvee account. If your account has a plan with a free TV slot, the TV switches on Premium within seconds. You can also type the code at showvee.com/activate.
I got a new TV. How do I move Premium?
Activate the new TV the same way. If all your slots are in use, the site asks which TV to replace. You can also remove TVs any time in your account.
Does showvee.com see my playlists or logins?
No. Your playlists, portal addresses, MAC addresses, usernames and passwords stay on your device. Activating a TV sends only its Showvee device code, model, platform and app version, whether it came from Google Play, the Amazon Appstore or showvee.com, and a fingerprint that shows it’s an official copy. See our privacy policy.
How do I update Showvee?
Showvee checks for updates by itself and offers them on the home screen. You can also check in Settings › About › Check for updates. Copies from Google Play update through Play.
Is Showvee on Google Play?
It’s in a closed test there. Become a tester.
Is there a parental lock?
Yes. Showvee can lock groups with a parental PIN, and groups your provider marks as restricted stay locked until you enter the provider’s parental password. Set it up in Showvee’s settings.
Can I use the same playlist on several devices?
Showvee doesn’t limit that, but your provider might: many subscriptions allow only one stream at a time. Check with your provider.
Buffering or freezing
- Test your internet speed on the device. HD needs about 10 Mbit/s, 4K about 25 Mbit/s, steadily.
- Use a network cable or 5 GHz Wi-Fi, and keep the router close and in the open.
- If only some channels buffer, the problem is likely with those streams. If your provider has several versions of a channel, pick another in Options › Quality.
- Make sure no one else is watching on the same subscription at the same time if your plan allows only one connection.
- Close multi-view, then restart the device and the router.
A channel won’t play
- Wait a moment: Showvee reconnects by itself. Switching away and back also fetches a fresh link.
- Try other channels in the same group. If none play, check your subscription’s status and expiry in Settings › Playlists › your playlist › Account details (portals and Xtream logins), or with your provider.
- Refresh the playlist: Settings › Playlists › your playlist › Update now. Channel links change from time to time.
- Try another version of the channel in Options › Quality.
- If one channel never plays, it’s usually offline at the provider. Ask your provider.
The portal or playlist won’t connect
- MAG portal: enter the portal URL exactly as given, including
http://orhttps://, the port and any path. Check the MAC address character by character (it looks like00:1A:79:12:34:56) — your provider must have it registered. - Xtream Codes: check the server address (with its port), username and password. They’re case-sensitive.
- M3U: make sure the link is complete; try opening it in a browser on a computer to see that it downloads.
- Check that your subscription is active, and that your provider allows the device you use.
- If it worked before: restart the device, then try again later — the provider’s server may be busy.
The guide is empty or shows the wrong time
- The guide is off until you turn it on in Settings › TV guide (from version 1.7.12). Large guides then take a minute to load.
- For M3U playlists, add your provider’s guide (XMLTV) link in the playlist’s settings if it isn’t in the playlist already.
- Channels without guide data simply aren’t covered by your provider’s guide.
- Wrong times: check the device’s date, time and time zone (turn on automatic date and time). If every programme is off by the same number of hours, your provider’s guide data has the wrong offset — tell your provider.
No sound
- Check the volume and mute on the TV, soundbar or receiver, and try another channel.
- Some channels have several audio tracks: pick another in Options › Audio.
- With a soundbar or AV receiver, Dolby (AC-3/E-AC-3) channels can go silent: switch the audio passthrough setting in Showvee’s settings off (or on) and try again.
- Restart Showvee.
The app won’t install
- “App not installed”: another copy signed differently is already there — for example from Google Play. Uninstall it, then install again.
- Blocked by Play Protect: choose Details › Install anyway.
- “Problem parsing the package”: the download didn’t finish, or the device is older than Android 7. Download again.
- Downloader code doesn’t work: update Downloader, or type showvee.com/get.
- Fire TV with Vega OS or Fire OS 5 can’t install Showvee — see unsupported devices.
showvee.com won’t open, or activation can’t connect
- Some network filters and security DNS services block websites in their first weeks online, and showvee.com is new. If the site, the download, the QR code page or Activate with your phone fails, allow showvee.com in your router’s or filter’s settings, or try the phone on mobile data.
- Check that the TV’s date and time are right (turn on automatic date and time): a wrong clock breaks secure connections.
