Help Showvee launch on Google Play

Showvee is new on Google Play. Before it can be public there, Google asks for at least 12 people to test it for 14 days. Joining takes about two minutes, and testers get Premium free — yours to keep after launch.

  1. Join the Showvee testers group. Sign in to Google with the account you use on Google Play (on your TV or phone), then tap Join group. Open the group
  2. Become a tester. Open Google Play’s testing page with that same account and tap Become a tester.
Opens soon as soon as Google approves the test version — join the group now and check back here.
  3. Install Showvee from Google Play with the link below — Play Store search doesn’t show test apps. On a phone, tap Install. For a Google TV or Android TV, open the link in a browser on your phone or computer, signed in with the same account, tap Install and choose the TV.
  4. Get your free tester Premium with a showvee.com account — see below.

Please stay for at least 14 days. Keep Showvee installed and stay opted in for 14 days in a row. Google needs 12 testers who stay that long before Showvee can be public on Google Play. Using it now and then helps too.

Free Premium for testers

As a thank-you, testers get Showvee Premium on 2 TVs or phones, free and yours to keep after launch. One per showvee.com account.

Sign in to your showvee.com account, or create one, then claim it here.

What testing means

  • You get the Google Play version of Showvee early, and it updates through Google Play. Test versions can have rough edges — that’s what we want to hear about.
  • It’s a player only: it plays the playlist from a TV service you already have and provides no channels. To just look around, add the demo playlist (open films and test streams).
  • Joining the group shows us the name and email address of your Google account. We use them only to run the test (see the privacy policy).

Send feedback

Write to support@showvee.com: what you tried, what happened, your device, and the Showvee version from Settings › About. Screenshots or a short phone video help a lot. Never send playlist passwords or MAC addresses.

Questions

Which Google account should I use?

The one your TV or phone uses for Google Play, for all three steps. On Google TV and Android TV you’ll find it under Settings › Accounts & sign-in (or Settings › Accounts). Joining with one account and installing with another doesn’t work.

The group page says I don’t have permission

That’s normal: only members can read the group, and only the Showvee team posts there. Sign in to Google (top right), open the group’s About page and tap Join group.

I joined, but Google Play doesn’t show Showvee

Play Store search doesn’t list test apps, so use the Google Play link on this page. Right after you join, Play may say the item wasn’t found: wait a few minutes and try again. A test version can also show as not yet reviewed at first. Check that you joined the group and tapped Become a tester with the account the device uses. For a TV, open the link on a phone or computer, choose Install and pick your TV from the list of devices.

I already have Showvee from showvee.com

The two versions are signed differently, so Google Play can’t install over it. Uninstall the showvee.com copy first. That also removes its playlists and settings, so keep your playlist details handy.

Does testing cost anything?

No. Joining the test and installing Showvee are free, and testers get Premium free too.

Do I keep tester Premium after the test?

Yes. It stays on your showvee.com account after Showvee goes public, for 2 TVs or phones. You can swap devices any time in your account.

How do I leave the test?

Open Google Play’s testing page and choose Leave the program, then leave the group if you like. You stop getting test versions; you can keep Showvee installed or uninstall it.

Showvee is a player only. It contains no channels or other content. Use it only with content you have the right to watch.
